Over the past year the Community Advisory Group
(CAG) has been working hard to ensure community issues and delegates are also represented in what is a very scientific conference. The following features and activities have been organized for conference delegates:
This conference’s community forum will take place as part of a joint initiative between the CAG and the IAS Policy and Advocacy team focusing on Key Affected Populations. The event will take place on Sunday 30 June, 09.00 14.30 at the Wisma M.C.A. No. 163, Jalan Ampang, Kuala Lumpur. Registration is necessary. Engagement tours will provide delegates with unique learning experiences through interactive site visits to local organizations that work on HIV/AIDS issues in Kuala Lumpur. The goal is to exchange knowledge, best practices, successes, challenges, and innovative solutions through dialogue and hands-on activities.
Tours will be available to conference delegates at no cost and transportation will be provided. Registration will be on a first-come first-served basis and tours are limited to one tour per delegate.

The Positive Lounge is designed to be a place of rest, support and networking for HIV positive conference delegates. The lounge provides an opportunity to meet and talk with other people living with HIV from across the globe in a relaxed and nurturing environment. Limited complimentary snacks, spaces for informal meetings and private facilities for taking medication are provided. The Positive Lounge is intended for HIV positive delegates only.
The lounge is located on the 4th floor.
NGO and civil society information will be displayed at the Community booth, number 105 in the exhibition hall, and you are invited to visit the staff to collect information on different programmes and initiatives.
The Community Office is for use by community delegates who wish to plan their daily activities, hold meetings, use the printing/photocopying services and obtain information on sessions and other conference activities.
The office is located on the 4th Floor, near the Positive Lounge.
Community Activist Liaison
The conference organizers provide support for dialogue and participation of activism through the Community Activist Liaison Programme. These individuals are available to provide advice and assistance in advance of and during the conference, in accordance with the IAS Principles and Values of Conference Participation
